使用新興的儀器治療憂鬱症，大家最關心的療效如何?
住院醫師時代幸運參與陳教授的rTMS研究，我們招募了難治型憂鬱症的患者，並且分為治療組與安慰劑組。所謂難治型憂鬱症指使用兩種以上抗憂鬱藥物六周以上仍沒改善(not responded to two different antidepressants administered for 6 weeks each)。經過10次的治療，rTMS治療組有70% 的人有療效反應( responder 1 month after treatment HAM-D score 70%)。
根據的國外的統合分析，目前重覆經顱磁刺激 (rTMS)對比安慰劑的療效反應從1.08到4.66 倍。
